67 ~ 365: Following the Pattern…

…from her original sketch, using frit (crushed glass) placed onto sheet glass substrate.  These panels will become a glass mobile hanging in the skylight at the entrance to the middle school.  Today was the last day of working with glass and the last of the panels are now being heated in the kiln to a ‘tack fuse’ temperature, which retains texture.  It is so fun watching the students become excited about the possibilities of working in glass.  I have thoroughly enjoyed this adventure!  Three days more with them to distribute the personal piece they each made and talk about the finishing process.
